Connecting HubSpot to Reven.eu
A walkthrough of what you'll see connecting the Reven.eu app to HubSpot, from signing in to your first synced deal, including the one permission step almost every HubSpot account needs to approve manually.
On this page
Before you start
Connecting HubSpot is a two-part OAuth flow: one round to sign you in, a second round to grant Reven read access to your pipeline data. The second round asks HubSpot for eight data scopes, and on most HubSpot accounts those need a super admin's sign-off in App Governance before they're granted. Have a super admin on hand, or be one yourself, and the whole thing takes about five minutes.
Every scope Reven requests is read-only. Here's what each one is for:
| Scope | What it's for |
|---|---|
oauth |
Signing you in and identifying your HubSpot account. Granted automatically. |
crm.objects.deals.read, crm.schemas.deals.read |
Reading your deals and their pipeline/stage structure. |
crm.objects.contacts.read, crm.schemas.contacts.read
|
Reading contacts attached to those deals. |
crm.objects.companies.read, crm.schemas.companies.read
|
Reading company records attached to those deals. |
crm.objects.owners.read |
Attributing deals to the right rep. |
sales-email-read |
Reading one-to-one sales email activity for engagement signals. |
Reven never writes back to HubSpot. Nothing here is modified, only read.
1 Sign in with HubSpot
From app.reven.eu, choose Continue with HubSpot, then pick the HubSpot account you want to connect.
2 Approve HubSpot as your login
This first approval is just about signing in, not about your pipeline data yet. HubSpot is one of several ways to log in to Reven.eu (alongside Google, Microsoft, and Pipedrive), so this step only lets Reven confirm who you are, using a single, minimal scope. You'll also see an "unverified app" warning; this is expected while Reven isn't yet a verified marketplace listing, and is safe to accept if you trust the developer.
3 Create your tenant
If this HubSpot account hasn't been connected to Reven before, you'll be asked to create a new tenant (or join an existing one, if a teammate has already set one up). Give it a name; you can rename it later.
4 Connect HubSpot as your CRM
A fresh tenant has no pipeline data yet. From the home screen, click Connect your CRM, then Connect HubSpot. This starts a second OAuth round, this time asking for the eight read-only CRM scopes listed above.
If you see "Couldn't complete the connection"
This is the single most common snag, and it isn't a bug on either side. Most HubSpot accounts have App Governance enabled, which means a super admin has to manually approve each data scope an app asks for, even after you've clicked through the consent screen yourself.
To grant them:
- In HubSpot, search for Connected apps (or go to Settings → Integrations → Connected Apps), then open the Approved apps tab.
- Find Reven.eu in the list and click Manage access.
- Switch to the Data Permissions tab. All eight conditionally required scopes will be off.
- Click Enable → All, then Save changes.
Only a HubSpot super admin can do this. If that's not you, this is the point to loop one in.
5 Finish connecting
Back in Reven, click Connect your CRM → Connect HubSpot again. This time the consent screen lists all eight scopes as required, and once you accept, HubSpot hands control back to Reven, which starts importing your deals.
6 Disconnecting or deleting your data
Everything below lives in Settings → Organization → CRM Connections, and all three actions are worth telling apart before you click one:
- Sync now triggers an immediate re-sync without changing anything about the connection itself.
- Disconnect, next to the HubSpot row, unlinks the CRM so Reven stops pulling new data. Your tenant and its history stay intact, and you can reconnect later.
- Disconnect CRM and delete all data, under Destructive Actions, unlinks HubSpot and permanently deletes everything synced for this tenant: deals, pipelines, and manually entered targets. This can't be undone.
- Delete tenant goes further still: it permanently deletes the tenant itself, all its data, and every member's access to it. This can't be undone either.
